Trekking in this mountain is a short course that you can climb with sneakers, but it is quite interesting!

What is Mt. Maunganui's Mauao?

This mountain is a beautiful conical shape with an altitude of 232m.

It's in the place that sticks out to the sea so when you reach the top, you can see the cityscape of Tauranga and the beautiful sea.

I think it would be best if you had a lunch and climbed.

Preparations in advance

Mt. Maunganui trekking course

There are the three routes.

This time, will introduce the three routes and their difficulty levels!

①Climb from the very large beach side (main beach)! Course with many stairs.(45~60min)

I think this route is the most famous.

There are many stairs at the beginning. And the steep slope continues from the middle((((；ﾟДﾟ)))))))

In the first half, it is recommended to climb leisurely while looking at the sea and the farm.

Please note that if you hurry too much, you will run out of breath.

②Climb from the other side of the main beach.Stoney course. (30min)

This course name is 4WD.

4WD course to climb from the back.

It’s a short course. However, there are steep slopes from start to finish.

Be careful because it is a little slippery!

The start is climbing while seeing the buttocks of the sheep released to the ranch. I'm not sure why the sheep turn their hips every time(° ▽ °)lol

The feature is that there are few people.

③A leisurely walk along the sea.(45min)

This is not a climbing course, it goes around Mauao.
You can walk from the main beach side.

The sea on the way is transparent and very beautiful. It is the home of sea lions.
If you're lucky you might meet them?

Mauao trekking is recommended!!
